We had a great Ladies' Bible Class last night! Our topic was: "The Six Gifts of Hospitality by Laurel S. Sewell Chapter 7: The Gift of Benevolence - Part 1" - “She stretches out her hands to the needy” Proverbs 31:20. My projector didn't work, but GOD made it work! THANK YOU JESUS and all my sisters-in-CHRIST!

From My Good Friend, John Fleming...Hebrews 13:2
http://bible.cc/hebrews/13-2.htm
“Let brotherly love continue. Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” ~Hebrews 13:2
Good Afternoon!
A friend of mine from high school posted the following message on yesterday…….
“It's so easy to feel sorry for yourself and think everyone has it better than you. I was at 7-11 yesterday and saw a women digging in the trash for food as I pulled up in a brand new car and a silly new phone I didn't need. I bought her a sandwich and took a moment to remember I have everything I NEED, not everything I want.” ~Jeff
I call moments like this a “divine appointment” and the first thing that came to my mind after reading this was the following scripture: “Let brotherly love continue. Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” ~Hebrews 13:2
I thought what Jeff said was very profound and the responses he got from others thanking him for sharing what he did was a clue that there are many people who know the truth of Hebrews 13:2. It caused me to think about the times I had the opportunity to DO something for the benefit of someone else that I knew I was being led to do but for whatever reason, I didn’t. How many times have we passed up an opportunity to be a blessing to someone no matter how strange or odd the act may have appeared to others and regardless of what others may have thought of you for doing it b/c for whatever reason they themselves would not? Nevertheless, you KNEW it was the right thing to do; your heart (which never lies) was gently calling you to action….
How many times have you entertained angels unawares? Ponder that for a moment? How many times did we miss the opportunity to entertain angels unawares? Consider the situations where you may have entertained an angel OR you may have been an angel to someone? I am convinced that we all have opportunities to show random acts of kindness just as much as we have been on the receiving end of random acts of kindness. Imagine what our world would be like if more people were more open to allowing that brotherly love to flow through us in a way that allows for more selfless acts of kindness and expressions of the AGAPE LOVE to be shared with one another?
Each day that I wake up, I thank God for another day of LIFE and the opportunity to be used for the greater good of others. I admit I am not always successful for the usual distractions of the day BUT I know that I am increasingly aware that I have opportunities all around me to be a blessing to others. Through daily prayer and meditation I am more AWARE of the opportunities to be a blessing. I find that I am more aware of those who may be in need and of the gentle tugging on my heart that is calling me to action. It could be praying for someone or helping someone in need or just a simple smile and a “how are you today” to make a difference in the lives of those around me. I am learning that there is a great blessing in being a blessing to others and I took time to let Jeff know how much I appreciated him for reminding me of this very important fact.
